President of Pakistan Industrial Promotion Forum (PIPF), Khalid Tawab has urged the political leaders and government to give up differences and work for upgrading living standard of the masses. Talking to newsmen, he said that due to ever increasing prices of essential goods, oil, power and gas tariffs, fare of public transport has made life of general public miserable.
He said it is need of the time that policies should be adopted with consensus of political parties to contain increasing prices of essential goods and utility tariffs. Tawab further said that increasing gas, power tariff and oil prices have direct impact on cost of industrial production, which not only have increased the burden on the pockets of general public but also have negative impact on exports.
The president emphasised that government should adopt policies to boost industrial production so that locally produced goods should be able to compete in the international. He demanded of the government to provide incentives to textile sector, which is the major source of foreign exchange earnings for the country.
