The sale of Sindhi cap all over Sindh has recorded a boom as various parties will observe the 'Sindhi Cap' Day on Sunday (December 6) to express solidarity and love for the culture of Sindh. Almost all shops in Hyderabad which sell Sindhi caps have now become short of supply but no let-up in its demand could be seen even when it is being sold on higher prices.
The leadership of Pakistan Peoples Party, Muttahida Qaumi Movement and Awami National Party as well as nationalist parties of the province have already declared their support to 'Sindhi Cap Day'.
Reports reaching here from the towns and villages of Dadu, Jamshoro, Thatta, Badin, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Allahyar, Matiyari, Mirpurkhas, Mithi at Tharparkar, Umerkot, Sanghar, Benazirabad (Nawabshah), Naushehro Feroz, Khairpur, Ghotki, Sukkur, Shikarpur, Jacobabad, Kashmore at Kandhkot, Larkana and Qambar at Shahdadkot districts show that demand of Sindhi cap and ajrak has spiralled up as many shopkeepers have started to excuse their customers for non-availability of theses items.
Sindhi cap is not only popular in Sindh but it is also worn by people living in different parts of the country because of its unique designs and colours with fixing of small pieces of glasses and metal, locally called as Heera.
