President, Karachi Bar Association (KBA), Muhammad Ali Abbasi passed away due to cardiac arrest on Sunday. The deceased (55) who joined the legal profession in 1983, was a member of Sindh Bar Council (SBC) and also Acting General Secretary, Peoples Lawyers Forum. He is survived by three daughters, two sons and a widow.
The Namaz-e-Janaza of the deceased was offered at Jamia Masjid Jilani, Garden area here. Former president Supreme Court Bar Association, Munir A Malik, Prosecutor General Sindh, Shahadat Awan, President Sindh High Court Bar Association, former Justice, Rasheed A Rizvi, Vice Chairman Sindh Bar Council, Mehmood-ul-Hasan and others attended the funeral procession.
Body of the deceased has been sent to his hometown, Abbotabad. The Karachi Bar Association has announced mourning day on Monday while a condolence meeting of the Bar will also be organised and the lawyers will not appear before the courts.
