Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance (LRQA), after assuring the compliance of ISO 9001:2008 standard and other statutory requirements, has approved Mehran University of Engineering & Technology, Jamshoro, Sindh to award certificate for ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System Standard (QMS).
The compliance was ensured through auditing each and every section of the varsity. Audit was conducted on October 19 to 20, 2009 by the LRQA auditors team under leadership of Raheel Ehsan.
Later, the audit report was discussed in 30th meeting of Management Review Committee (MRC). Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan Rajput, Vice-Chancellor, Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Jamshoro presided over the 30th meeting of MRC. The meeting was attended by Professor Dr Muhammad Aslam Uqaili Pro-Vice Chancellor/Dean QEC, Professor Dr Abdu Karim Baloch Dean Faculty of Electrical, Electronic and Computer System Engineering, Professor Dr Ibraheem Panhwar Dean Faculty of Science, Technology and Humanities, Professor Dr Riaz Ahmed Sohag Dean Faculty of Engineering, Professor Dr Dost Ali Khowaja Dean Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering and all Chairmen, Directors and Sectional Heads of the varsity. Assessment Findings of Internal & External Quality Audits, Student Feedback regarding Teachers' Evaluation and other facilities, Feedback from Departmental and Faculty level Management Review Committees, Process Performance and Service Conformance, Status of Preventive and Corrective Actions, Recommendations for Improvement, Status of Yearly Quality Objectives, came under review.
All the issues were discussed deeply and sound decisions were taken to enhance the quality of teaching and other services provided to the students to meet international standards.
