PFBA started off in 1991 with a handful of founding members and is today an engine for promoting Pakistan France economic and trade ties with 150 members. His Excellency, Mr Daniel Jouanneau, Ambassador of France in Pakistan, is the Patron-in-Chief.
The object of PFBA is to promote business, mutual understanding and friendly relations between the private sectors of Pakistan and France. PFBA is a bilateral representative forum of Pakistani industrialists/businessmen involved in economic exchanges with French private sector. French companies represented in Pakistan also form part of this alliance.
PFBA organised the 6th Pakistan France Trade Performance Awards 2007-2009 at a local hotel on Tuesday, 8th December. This is an annual event which honours the leading Pakistani Manufacturers /exporters to and importers from France.
Irfan Nadeem, was the chief guest who gave away the trophies to awardees in the presence of His Excellency Daniel Jouanneau, Ambassador of France to Pakistan and Mr Jamil Hamdani, the President of Pakistan France Business Alliance. Awardees included PFBA Karachi members and also members of the Northern Chapter.
In the Home Textile category the 1st Prize (2007-2009) went to Gul Ahmed Textile Mills (Pvt) Ltd and the 1st prize (2007-2009) in the Fabric exports category was given to Naveena Industries (Pvt) Ltd. In the Garment Export Category the 1st prize (2007-2009) went to Penna Overseas Corporation (Sialkot).
In the textile Buying Agents the 1st prize (2007-2009) was awarded to GIA Export Marketing Services (Pvt) Ltd and in the information and technology category the 1st prize (2007-2009) was given to Infotel Pakistan (Pvt) Ltd. The 1st prize (2007-2009) in the chemicals category was awarded to SI Chemicals and in the Pharmaceutical category the 1st prize (2007-2009) went to Sind Medical Stores.
In the Diagnostic & Lab equipment category the 1st prize(2007-2009) was given to Global Marketing Services (Rawalpindi) and the 1st prize winner (2007-2009) in the surgical goods category was awarded to Chugata Impex (Sialkot). Techno Medical Systems (Pvt) Ltd received the 1st prize (2007-2009) in the Hospital Equipment category. Southern Agencies (Pvt) Ltd were awarded the 1st prize for the year 2007-2008 in the Shipping & Freight Forwarders category and in the same category CMA CGM Pakistan (Pvt) Ltd received the 1st prize for the year 2008-2009.
Similarly in the Leather garments category, Mahr Garments (Pvt) Ltd received the 1st prize for the year 2007-2008 and Nova Leathers (Pvt) Ltd were awarded the 1st prize for the year 2008-2009. In the Cosmetic / Consumer goods category Marriana International was the 1st prize (2007-2009) winner and in the commodities category the 1st prize for the year 2008-2009 went to Ahmed jaffer & Company (Pvt) Ltd.
Saadat International (Lahore) received the 1st prize (2007-2009) in the Animal Husbandry category, in the Livestock category the 1st prize (2007-2009) went to Grand Parent Poultry(Lahore) and in the Veterinary Surgical Instruments category the 1st prize (2007-2009) award was given to Kurdsons Industries (Pvt) Ltd (Lahore).
In the oil & gas category the 1st prize (2007-2009) went MAS Associates (Pvt) Ltd(Lahore) and in the Engineering category the 1st prize for the year 2007-2008 was awarded to Greaves Pakistan (Pvt) Ltd and the award for the 1st prize in the year 2008-2009 in the same category was given to MAQ International .
In the Industrial Safety equipment category the 1st prize (2007-2009) was given to White Horizon (Pvt) Ltd (Lahore) and BUSAN International secured the 1st position for the year 2008-2009 in the Drilling equipment category. In the Defence Equipment category there were 2 awardees, Salman & Associates (Rawalpindi) received the 1st prize in the year 2007-2008 and Marketing International Services Limited won the 1st prize in 2008-2009.
