Senior Provincial Minister, Raja Riaz Ahmed has directed to ensure foolproof security arrangements for the public meeting to be held on December 13. He was presiding over a meeting at committee room of Punjab Assembly here on Monday. He asked police and all concerned departments to perform their duties diligently in order to provide security to the participants of the meeting.
He instructed all party workers to remain peaceful and extend all support and co-operation to the security agencies. President PPP Punjab Rana Aftab Ahmed, General Secretary Sami Ullah Khan, President PPP Lahore Chaudhry Muhammad Asghar, SSP Chaudhry Muhammad Shafique, DCO Lahore Sajjad Ahmed Bhutta and other officers of concerned departments also attended the meeting.
The senior minister said that every participant of the public meeting would be searched irrespective of status. He also issued instructions to traffic police to remain active and make all necessary arrangements for smooth flow of traffic. Similarly, around 1,122 staff of fire brigade would be available in order to deal with any untoward situation. The meeting decided to install mobile jammers, special picket, security cameras and walk through gates at the venue.
Later, Raja Riaz Ahmed while addressing a press conference at Motchi Gate said that, "I hope that the party workers will display exemplary discipline in the public meeting", adding every body would be searched including himself. Provincial Minister Farooq Ghurki and a large number of office-bearers were also present on the occasion.
