Rs 35 million to be spent on parks in Lyari

Sindh Government has approved the renovation of all the parks to beautify Lyari area and provide a better environment and will spend Rs 35 million on this count. A decision in this regard was taken in a meeting of Provincial Development Working Party held under the chairmanship of ACS (Development) Munawar Opel here on Tuesday.
The scheme's features would include improvement of walkways, provision of benches, installation of beautiful fountains, plantation of flowery and green plants, reconstruction of boundary walls etc. The Project Director was told to prepare PC-1 as amended by Local Government department.
It was decided that funds for the scheme would be provided under the Lyari Development Package for which Rs 300 million have been kept in ADP 2010-11. The meeting was attended by Secretary Planning, Captain Javed Ishrat (Retd), Chief Economist Dr Noorul Huq, Special Secretary Iqbal Ahsan Zaidi, Project Director, Shafiqur Rehman Paracha and others.
