Plan to equip educational institutions with latest infrastructure in AJK

President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Raja Muhammad Zulqarnain Khan here on Tuesday said that the government was executing an integrated phased plan to furnish all the state-run educational institutions from primary to varsity level with modern infrastructure for extending quality education harmonious to the need of modern age.
"Dispensation of quality education to produce the most competent future architects of the nation shall have to be ensured to change the fate of the nation", the President stressed while laying the foundation stone of new blocks of various faculties besides inaugurating the newly-launched departments of various subjects in the state-run Mirpur University of Science & Technology (MUST) main Mirpur campus.
AJK Education Minister Ms Noureen Arif, Advisor to the AJK President Dr Z.U.Khan, Vice Chancellor of AJK University and the MUST Professor Dr Habib ur Rehman (Sitara-e-Imtiaz), Dean of the varsity Professor Dr Naib Hussain, Head of Electrical Engineering Department Professor Mirza Muhammad Waris Jiraal, Registrar MUST Professor Muhammad Shabir Mirza, and varsity student Miss Tania, also addressed the ceremony.
Besides, the educationists, a large number of city elites, parents and students attended the ceremony. Speakers highlighted the salient features of the newly launched faculties of various subjects for providing post-graduate level education to the students. They underlined the priorities of the government for the dispensation of quality education in science and technology.
Earlier, the President opened the departments of four-year programme of civil engineering as well as post graduate classes of Fine Arts, mathematics, zoology, Chemistry and Physics. "The state government is determined to enhance Science and Technology education on modern lines despite its limited resources", the President said. Raja Zulqarnain Khan said that since youth are the precious asset of the nation and the country, teachers and parents should have to perform pivotal role to produce the quality future architects of the nation ensuring quality education for them.
Raja Zulqarnain Khan said that computer education was being provided to the people living in far-flung areas. He said that it was necessary to adopt modern techniques of education and bring positive changes for success and development. He said government was spending million of rupees on educational institutions, IT education and setting up network of information technology.
He underlined the need of mutual co-operation of parents and the teachers to achieve these targets at national level. He said that more and more people should be given computer training and IT education in this fast expanding regime of information technology. New faculties of graduate and post-graduate engineering and non engineering in various disciplines in the public sector Mirpur University of Science and Technology (MUST) started academic activities from Tuesday.
