Divisional Commissioner Tahir Hussain has said that according to the directions of Punjab government, security arrangements for observing Muharram should be finalised soon. Talking to newsmen on Wednesday the commissioner said that for the elimination of anti-society elements and miscreants all sections of police department, intelligence agencies.
Ulema belonging to the different sects, members of district and divisional peace committees, member of parliaments, media and civil society should play their role. He directed the divisional and district heads of law forcing agencies to evolve strategy to ensure foolproof security arrangements as it would foil the nefarious designs of enemies of the country.
The concerned officers to have inspections of sensitive points, Imam Barghas, mosques and other holy places. The concerned Ulema and other responsible persons should be taken into confidence according to the instructions of Punjab government, he said. Pre-Muharram security arrangements should be reviewed continuously, he said.
During the meeting, divisional administration handed over a list of tasks and responsibilities to the officers of law enforcing agencies. The meeting was attended by the DCO Jhang, Asad Islam Mahni, DCO Toba Tek Singh, Amanullah Khan, DCO Chiniot Rana Muhammad Tahir, DOC Faisalabad Liaqat Ali Chatha, DPO Jhnag Chaudhry Sultan Ahmad, police officers of Toba Tek Singh, Chiniot, and Faisalabad districts were also present in the meeting.
