US MIDDAY: coffee, cocoa rally; sugar down

Summaries of the ICE Futures US cocoa, coffee and sugar markets early on Wednesday. March arabica coffee contract up 1.30 cents at $1.4520 per lb by 11:50 am EST (1650 GMT). Session range spanned $1.44 to $1.4665. Arabica coffee futures maintained early gains by midday, bought by investors in the broad commodities complex as the US dollar resumed its downtrend, said brokers.
March raw sugar contract down 0.05 cent to 22.17 cents per lb at 12:17 pm. Trading range from 22.14 to 22.65 cents. Sugar slides to 1-1/2-week low as market takes its cues from weaker tone in crude oil prices, said traders. Benchmark March cocoa contract held onto $47 gains at $3,409 per tonne at 11:55 am. Trading band extends from $3,363 to $3,419. US cocoa ran up early after the dollar fell, said traders.
