No employee of Sports Board to be sacked

Provincial Minister for Sports and Chairman Sports Board Dr Tanvir-ul-Islam has said that no employee of Sports Board Punjab will be removed from service and medical facility will also be provided to the employees. He said this, while presiding over a meeting of Board of Governors at Sports Board Punjab and the Board gave approval to it.
Secretary Sports Punjab Rao Iftikhar and officers of education, finance, revenue and police departments as well as office bearers of sports associations attended the meeting. The meeting also gave approval to enhance the annual grant of sports associations affiliated with board to Rs 200,000. The meeting also accorded approval of carrying out special audit of financial matters of Sports Board for the last three years.
The Board also approved Rs 5,000 per month scholarship to the player obtaining gold medal at individual level. An agreement will be made with Services Hospital for providing free medical facilities to the employees of Sports Board. Services Hospital will provide medical facilities to the employees and the Board will provide funds to the hospital as per rules against this facility. The meeting also gave approval to hiring the services of foreigner coaches for imparting training to the players on modern lines.
It also approved the financial assistance of Rs 40,000 for the treatment of Rustam-e-Asia Gold Medalist wrestler (Pehalwan) Shuja. It may be recalled that Shuja has lost eyesight and has needed transplantation of cornea. Provincial Minister and Chairman Board Dr Tanvir-ul-Islam announced the import of cornea from Sri Lanka and its transplantation in the eyes of Shuja Pehalwan and bearing all expenses from his own pocket.
