It gives me great pleasure to extend my heartiest congratulation to all the residents, users, readers, and members of the Central Library, DHA on its 18th Anniversary. This is no less than a milestone that the Central Library within a short span of time has reached this height.
DHA over the years has come, not only to symbolise as a progressive residential estate that focuses on provision of quality civic amenities, good living environments but also lays more emphasis on standard education to its residents. This has been made possible through the untiring efforts, persistent hard work and commitment of the staff and management of the DHA. Today, DHA stands at an important juncture of its history of development. The challenges are numerous and daunting; the team of DHA is however, all set to accept the challenges and to deliver to the best of their abilities.
This anniversary year provides the Central Library with an opportunity to celebrate both its history and its place in the DHA community. The Library has become one of the premier institutions in DHA, supporting the development of ideas, research and creativity. It ensures all the people to have access to historical record, creative achievements and intellectual endeavour. Importantly, the Library by treasuring our past contributes to the development of our future.
While the Central Library DHA is celebrating its place in this metropolis city, we are also taking this opportunity to acknowledge the role many of our colleagues have played in its development. Through the acquisition of invaluable formed collections as well as countless individual items, the Library has been able to gather a prodigious collection of records that reflect the evolution of our nation.
During 2009 the Library is holding an exciting program of exhibitions, events, to encourage all the people to visit the Central Library, DHA to discover our collections and services, and environment. I hope that many of you will be able to join us in the celebrations.
