Cooperation in agriculture, veterinary services: Malaysian agri delegation arrives here to discuss prospects

A high-level delegation of Malaysia's Ministry of Agriculture and Agro-Based Industry and Department of Veterinary Services of Malaysia has arrived here to discuss prospects for co-operation in the field of agriculture and veterinary services.
The delegation will hold extensive meetings with their Pakistani counterparts to examine research facilities and Halal food infrastructure here to establish linkages between private and public sector organisations, said Commercial Counsellor for Pakistan High Commission Wajihullah Kundi.
The team comprises of Veterinary Officer Dr Ainul Yuzairi Bin Mohd Yusof and Diplomatic and Administrative Officer, Ministry of Agriculture and Agro-Based Industry Ms Azura Azreen Binti Yusof. The delegation will also visit various research facilities of the host country, including University of Veterinary and Animal Science, Artificial Insemination Centre, Veterinary Research Institute, Lahore.
Moreover, Mr Kundi said the delegation will also go to Halal Food Infrastructure, established by the private sector in Pakistan, besides Live Stock Production Research Institute, Okara, and Buffalo Research Institute, Pattoki in Punjab, besides meeting with the Punjab Board of Investment and Trade and Commerce. The visit is in line with the vision of Malaysian External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) target to increase bilateral trade between Pakistan and Malaysia from existing level of over US $1 billion to US $10 billion by 2015.
