President ZTBL Zaka Ashraf called on Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani at the PM House here on Friday morning. The Prime Minister said that agriculture is an important area of our economy therefore, concerted efforts need to be in place to give boost to rural economy.
ZTBL should focus on facilitating the growers particularly the small farmers in the far-flung areas of the country, so that the agriculture sector could be further developed, he added. He also appreciated the performance of ZTBL in improving the outlook of the bank.
Zaka Ashraf briefed the Prime Minister that the bank has earned a record profit of Rs 2 billion and also has successfully reduced the non-performing loan from 30 percent to 14 percent. He informed that under the direction of the Prime Minister, all out efforts would be made to facilitate the farmers by providing loans, thus boosting agriculture in the country.-PR
