The GC University Lahore is holding its 8th convocation on Saturday (today) at 10:00am at the Bokhari Auditorium of the varsity. The full dress rehearsal of the convocation was held on Friday from 10am to 11:30am. As many as 52 rolls of honour and medals would be conferred on students besides academic degrees. About 33 doctorate degrees would also be conferred on students; two in the field of Botany, six in Chemistry, one in Economics, 19 in Mathematics, one in Urdu, two in Physics, one in Statistics and one PhD in the field of Zoology.
Meanwhile, Controller Examinations GCU A S Bokhari has informed that the time of the convocation has been changed from 9am to 10am, adding that the guests are being informed in this regard. He said that only postgraduate students and position-holders would be given degrees at the convocation, while the remaining students would be conferred degrees at a prize distribution ceremony on December 14, 2009, at the Bokhari Auditorium of GC University, Lahore.-PR
