The CNG dealers of Rawalpindi and Islamabad region would observe a 24-hour holiday, from Monday 6am. to Tuesday 6 am., on December 14. Chairman All Pakistan CNG Association Ghiyas Paracha said here on Sunday this decision has been taken to ensure the people of the twin cities do not suffer much from the CNG shortage.
He said a large number of public transport is also using CNG as a fuel and they would face difficulties in running the vehicles. Meanwhile, the government has directed all the CNG dealers to observe a two-day (48 hours) holiday each week to help conserve natural gas during the winter months (December to March).
