Kisan Board Pakistan (KBP) has expressed its serious concern over the statement of the Finance Minister in which he has asked the provinces to levy agricultural tax. In a statement issued here on Tuesday KBP President, Sardar Zafar Hussein Khan said that poor farmers were already facing severe difficulties and not able to lift more burden.
He said that if government functionaries honestly recover the already levied taxes then there was no need of imposing new taxes. He alleged that already 400 to 500 billion rupees taxes were being evaded due to faults in the system. If government have less resource then it should decrease non-development expenditures, reduce cabinet size and avoid lavish spending on foreign tours.
