City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal on Wednesday inaugurated Rs 203.6 million worth projects in women education sector. These include construction of BTech Block and Display Center at Government Polytechnic Institute for Women at Karimabad and construction of new building for post-graduate classes at Shaheed-e-Millat Girls Degree College Azizabad.
Gulberg Town Nazim Kamal Malik, EDO Works & Services Rasheed Mughal, other city government officers and media representatives also accompanied him. City Nazim on this occasion said that the education sector received significant attention during last four years when the city government took major steps for up gradation of education institutes so as to raise the overall standard of education.
Girl's students were specially provided with the facility to get well standard regular and technical education nearer to their residence. Three year diploma holder students would stand eligible for admission in B. Tech Courses while work on 38 campuses was also underway speedily where model schools will be established to provide modern and quality education facilities to citizens in every town of the city.
City Nazim said that the establishment of mini expo center at Women Polytechnic Institute Karimabad would provide ample opportunities to students to show their talent and abilities in the field of technical education. He expressed hope that the B.Tech courses in Architecture, Garments and Electronic Technology would help female students in getting better and respectable livelihood.
He further said that the inauguration of post graduate courses in Shaheed-e-Millat Degree College has also fulfilled an old demand of the students residing in Gulberg Town. Nazim Karachi said that the women education centers have also been equipped with computer labs and modern libraries to cater to the needs of modern era. A new auditorium will be completed soon at the Post-Graduate Campus of Shaheed-e-Millat Degree College Azizabad.
Replying a query City Nazim said that presently city government was facing a shortfall of Rs 350 million in its budget but despite of that we did not allow any break in the development process and kept them going through alternate arrangements of funds or under bridge financing method. Earlier large number of students of Polytechnic Institute Karimabad and Degree College Azizabad welcomed City Nazim on his arrival for inauguration of projects and showered rose petals on him.-PR
