Pakistanis are moderate and peace loving people with enormous vigour to express their soft image to the world with colours and fragrance. This was stated by Vice Chancellor University of Agriculture Faisalabad, UAF, Professor Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan while inaugurating a two-day "Flower Festival" here at the Faculty of Agriculture Lawn on Tuesday evening.
While dispelling the misperception of the western world he said that the youth of country is a symbol of strength and hope as they express their feelings with the most sophisticated way by arranging and participating in such events which is a testament of natural taste and attitude of this region based upon tolerance and tranquillity. He maintained that fragrance could not be suppressed by a wave of terrorism.
He said the exhibition gives us a message of peace when the country is under the clutches of terrorism. Professor Barbara A Rasco from the School of Food Sciences, Washington State University lauded the efforts of the students. Barbara said that holding of such events is a need of hour as there are numerous speculations about Pakistani Society with regard to current wave of extremism.
She urged the students to remain vigilant as miscreants want to disrupt the moral of the nation by their heinous activities. Meanwhile, Professor Dr M Aslam Pervaiz Director Institute of Horticultural Sciences while briefing the guests told that along with students of UAF, various organisations and educational institutions are participating in the Flower Festival.
