Kashmiris to observe death anniversary of Ghulam Abbas today

Kashmiris living both sides of the line of control and rest of the world would observe the 41st death anniversary of eminent Kashmiri leader and the pioneer Supreme head of Azad Jammu and Kashmir government Quaid-e-Kashmir Chaudhry Ghulam Abbas on December 18.
A meeting of national events organising committee chaired by Deputy Commissioner and Chairman of the committee Muhammad Tayyeb Chaudhry here on Thursday approved a programme to observe the death anniversary of departed hero of the Kashmir freedom movement with full respect and honour.
In Mirpur a ceremony to observe the anniversary will be held on Friday at 10am at Municipal Corporation Hall with AJK Minister for Social Welfare, Naheed Tariq in Chair. It will be gazetted holiday across AJK on this occasion. Quran Khawani will be held in various parts of AJK territory, occupied state and different parts of the country for the departed soul.
Special meetings will be held at various places in Azad Kashmir including Mirpur, Kotli, Muzaffarabad, Bhimber, Bagh, Sudhanoti and Rawalakot under the auspices of the All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference to pay glorious tributes to late leader for his remarkable services for the Kashmir freedom movement.
Major ceremony to observe the day will be held, at the mazar of late Chaudhry Ghulam Abbas at Faizabad Rawalpindi on December 18 morning under the auspices of Azad Jammu and Kashmir government. Top Kashmiri leaders, mostly belonging to the Muslim Conference including AJK Prime Minister Farooq Haider will address the ceremony.
A large number of people including the Muslim Conference activists from different parts of Azad Kashmir and Pakistan will visit the mazar of late Ghulam Abbas and offer fateha for the departed soul besides offering special prayer for the early success of the Kashmir freedom movement and accession of entire Jammu Kashmir state to Pakistan.
