Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry on Saturday constituted a three-member bench to commence hearing of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) appeals regarding conviction and acquittal under National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) from December 21 (Monday). Headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, the bench would comprise Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali and Justice Khilji Arif Hussain.
After striking down the NRO, the court said it would keep an eye on the proceedings of revived cases through the establishment of Monitoring Cells. On Friday, the Chief Justice nominated Justice Ghulam Rabbani as head of the 'Monitoring Cell Supreme Court' to keep an eye on proceedings and progress of revived cases under the NAB in pursuance of December 16 decision against the NRO.
