The first batch of swine flu vaccines would reach the country on January 10 which will contain one million vaccines, Secretary Health said on Saturday. Talking to a private TV channel, Secretary Health, Khushnud Lashari said they are receiving these vaccines with the co-operation of World Health Organisation (WHO) while USAID would also provide four million more swine flu vaccines.
He said they had chalked out a distribution plan for immediate distribution of vaccines among the masses. He further said they would provide vaccines to those areas on priority bases where such cases had been detected. Secretary Health said the price of every vaccine was more than $7 however they were taking measures to provide free vaccines to swine flu patients.
He said there were 200 cases of swine flu registered across the country in which 10 patients died while majority of patients recovered from the sickness. Khushnud Lashari said they had advised National Health Department (NHD) to remain in contact with provincial authorities in this regard.
