Malaysian shares ended 0.20 percent higher on Tuesday due to what one dealer described as late "window-dressing". The Kuala Lumpur Composite Index gained 2.49 points to 1,275.22. Gainers outnumbered losers 383 to 251. Volumes continued to be thin with 489 million shares worth 704 million ringgit (207 million dollars) traded.
Among gainers, traditional herbal and pharmaceutical products manufacturer Hai-O added 5.7 percent at 8.49 ringgit, while healthcare provider KPJ gained 5.3 percent at 6.41. On the downside, Nestle shed 0.7 percent at 32.92 ringgit, while palmoil firm Genting Plantations eased 1.4 percent at 6.20.
