While addressing a press conference in Islamabad on Tuesday, the former Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif said the masses will decide the fate of Pakistan in 2018 elections and dismissed the Supreme Court's order against him on Panama Case.

Sharif was accompanied by prominent leaders of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz. "It is a matter of 200 million Pakistanis and I cannot leave the masses alone,” the deposed PM added.

Speaking to the media in Punjab House, Sharif said, “Ten years ago during a dictatorship in this very September month in this very PIA flight, I travelled to Pakistan. That day, I was not allowed to move out of Islamabad,” he said. “We believe in the Constitution and rule of law, for which have rendered numerous sacrifices.”

Sharif claimed that no corruption charges  have been proved against him, adding that the iqama ‘farce’ was created to make a basis for his disqualification.

Dismissing the top court's orders against him on Panama Case, he said, “Court suspiciously formed a joint investigation team and announced a verdict. It [court] then ordered the National Accountability Bureau to break its regulations and file reference against me”.

The former PM also thanked the nation for praying for his ailing wife Kulsoom Nawaz, who is currently under treatment in London.
