Research is a base for innovation and diversification of any literature and Urdu scholars should carry out more research for finding fresh perspectives on classical Urdu literature. Dr Mueenuddin Aqeel, head of Urdu Department, International Islamic University Islamabad, while presiding over a seminar organised here said that Urdu is a rich language but there is a dire need to work for its advancement.
He also lauded the IIU Urdu department's endeavour for launching research magazine 'Mayaar'. The seminar was organised by Urdu Department IIU in collaboration with Islamic Research Centre. Dr Najeeba Arif, Incharge Urdu Department IIUI and Dr Sohail Abbas Baloch presented research papers in the seminar.
Dr Najeeba Arif in her paper on "Cruelty of History and William Dalrymble's Point of View" presented a detailed review of William Dalrymble's idealogy and the background of the topic discussed in his book. Dr Sohail Abbas in his paper on "Nameless Literatures Terminologies and their new Denotation and Explanation", analysed Urdu literature.
On the basis of his research he commented that Urdu dictionaries lack lot of literary forms. He also discussed 800 words, which cannot be related to any specific grammar composition. In support of his comments he also presented poetic values of these forms. Rector International University Islamabad Professor Fateh Muhammad, faculty members of Urdu department and a large number of students attended the seminar.
