A tribunal of Balochistan High Court on Saturday dismissed election petition on constituencies of PB-30 Bolan-I while reserved decision on NA-271 Khuaran-cum-Washuk-Panjgur after hearing.
The tribunal consisting of Judge Ghulam Mustaffa Mengal dismissed the petition filed by Mir Gehwar Khan Satakzai who claimed in his petition that his rival candidate, the sitting Provincial Finance Minister Mir Asim Kurd Gailo had physically removed his polling agents on gunpoint, forged and over powered other polling staff to stamp thousands of votes in his favour during polling for the February 18, 2008 general elections.
He said that the results declared by the Election Commission showed that Mir Asim Kurd Gailo had received 8,751 extra votes than the petitioner. He had prayed to the court to exclude the 8,571 alleged bogus votes from the account of Mir Asim Kurd Gailo and declare the petitioner as successful candidate on seat of PB-30 Bolan-I.
Since despite repeated notices no party appeared or intimated the court with regard to the failure to attend the court, the honourable judge Mir Ghulam Mustaffa Mengal dismissed the petition due to non-pursuance. The tribunal also reserved decision on the petition of Lieutenant General Abdul Qadir Baloch (Retd) against the returned candidate Ehsan Raiki on NA-271 Kharan-cum-Washuk-cum-Panjgur after hearing on December 23, 30 and January 1.
