President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani have sent condolence messages to Indonesian government on passing away of former president Abdur Rahman Wahid.
President Zardari in his message to Indonesian President Dr H. Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono said with Wahid's death, the people of Indonesia have lost not only a person who led the country with great sagacity and earned respect for his unflinching commitment to religious pluralism, freedom of media and politics of reconciliation.
He expressed deepest sympathy to the people and government of Indonesia as well as to the bereaved family over this tragic loss. Prime Minister Gilani in his message to Indonesian vice president Professor Dr Boediono conveyed deepest condolences on the demise of former Indonesian president. "We pray to Allah, the most merciful, to bestow His blessings on the departed soul and give the fortitude to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss," he said.
