Developing consensus on NFC Award hailed

Terming the unanimous decision on the 7th NFC Award among the federation and the provinces historic, Federal Minister for Minorities Shahbaz Bhatti said the distribution of resources in the Award was according to the wishes and expectations of the people of the country.
Talking to media here on Sunday, he said that approval of the award with consensus would prove a milestone for the prosperity and stability in the country. He said that President Asif Ali Zardari is a symbol of federation, stability and unity, and is guardian of democratic values. Bhatti said that the PPP believed in the politics of reconciliation and promoting constructive politics, which was evident from the fact that they did not take revenge from those that indiscriminately lodged cases against the PPP leaders. The minister said the PPP government, under the dynamic leadership of President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani, is following pro-people and pro-democratic policies, and vision of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto.
The PPP government and its leadership, he said, did not want confrontation among the state institutions. "The PPP government and its leadership want to further strengthen the state institutions for the solidarity of the country", he remarked.
He congratulated the nation, on signing of 7th NFC Award with consensus, and termed it a success of the democratic forces in the country.
