The special anti-terror court headed by Muhammad Aslam has sent five arrested US citizens to jail till January 17 and acquitted the sixth accused. Earlier, five US nationals presented in anti-terror court under strict security. The court has sent five US citizens to jail as police did not requested extension in physical remand, whereas ordered release of Khalid Farooq, father of one of the detained US national Umer Farooq due to lack of evidences.
The court has ordered the police to reopen FIR of US nationals and provide copies of FIR to their lawyers. The challan of case will be presented in anti-terror court on January 18. It may be recalled that Sargodha Police have arrested the US nationals, Waqar Hussain Khan 22, Ahmed Abdullah Mani 20, Omar Farouk 24, Iman Hasan Yamar 17, and Ramay S Zamzam 22, later they were brought by police to Sargodha from Lahore amid tight security and presented in a district and sessions court as the court extended their physical remand till January 4.
The five were arrested on December 9 on charges of plotting terrorist attacks in Pakistan and Afghanistan. The US nationals, Waqar Hussain Khan 22, Ahmed Abdullah Mani 20, Omar Farouk 24, Iman Hasan Yamar 17 and Ramay S Zamzam 22 were brought by police to Sargodha from Lahore amid tight security and presented in a district and sessions court. The court extended their physical remand till January 4.
