Allotment of plots in Gujrat vegetable mandi: inquiry against perpetrators directed

Senior Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab, Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa has directed the provincial authorities to initiate inquiry against the responsible of malpractice in the allotment of plots/shops at vegetable mandi Gujrat. He issued these directions while presiding over a meeting of the committee formed by the Chief Minister to inquire about the facts of the inquiry reports against market committee Gujrat.
The complaint was lodged by the members of Anjuman-E-Arhtian Vegetable Mandi Gujrat. The meeting was attended by Punjab Law Minister Rana Sana Ullah Khan, Additional Secretary Local Government, Secretary Agri-marketing beside others.
The Senior Advisor said inquiry should be conducted by the competent and honest officers of the Anti Corruption Department and case should be registered against the culprits how influential they may be. He said that inquiry should be impartial and result oriented.
The meeting was informed that plots/shops were allotted against the merit in sabzi mandi Gujrat, visible violations were conducted and influential persons got allotted five plots in the names of son's wives, son in laws and daughters. The public welfare places like washrooms, public paths were converted into plots and got allotted by the powerful people, the meeting was informed.
