The Pakistan Manpower Institute (PMI) providing skill development training to over 700 employees every year in different disciplines from public and private sectors. Talking to APP here on Tuesday, Director Muhammad Azam said the objective of the institute is to conduct training and research activities in the discipline of Human Resource Development, Human Resource Management, Information Technology and other Labour related issues.
He said that the training programmes are arranged with the objective of providing human resource research services to government departments, public corporations and private establishments that can contribute in the country's development. Muhammad Azam told the institution works to stimulate interest in human resource problems generally and to cooperate and assist other human resources research agencies, institutions or professional associations.
During its various programmes, the PMI imparts training to 35 to 40 people selected from different departments in each course while the regular courses are offered over 20 times in a year.
Besides these Human Resource Development and Management courses, the PMI also holds seminars, workshops for the employees and introduce latest short computer courses for the improvement in skill development of people, he said. "These efforts can bring a substantial change in improving the professional skills of people with proper training and changing the living standard of those working in different fields," he remarked.
