At least seven people were killed including two political workers in different incidents across the city on Tuesday, police and witnesses said. As per details, unknown armed men shot dead Roedad Khan, 42, son of Hunaid Khan.
The deceased was standing outside a general store with his friend Sher Zaman in the limits of Ibrahim Haidri police when two armed bike riders fired bullets on them. Both of them were rushed to hospital, but Roedad succumbed to his injuries. The condition of Sher Zaman Khan is said to be critical.
Ibrahim Haidri police registered a casem, No 06/2010, under section 302 of Pakistan Panel Code (PPC) against the unknown assailants. The deceased was said to the workers of Awami National Party (ANP). In another incident, a worker of Mohajir Qaumi Movement (MQM-H) was killed in Babar Market, Landhi. Abdul Rauf, 45, son of Yousuf was killed in Babar Market, Sector 37-C. The deceased was resident of 20/29 Sector 37-C. Awami Colony police registered a case against unknown assailants.
In Korangi area, two former Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) activists were killed. Imran, 26, son of Abdul Malik was killed in Korangi 100 quarters while Amir, 25, son of Afsar Hussain was killed in 5 1/2 Korangi. Both were said to be the ex-worker of MQM and left the party few years ago.
In yet another incident, Sikandar Magsi, 30, son of Sharif Magsi was killed near Surjani Mor by unknown armed men while Amjad Ali, 28, son of Izat Ali was killed in Sindhi Hotel, New Karachi. Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child was killed when a house wall collapsed in Sher Shah Colony, Landhi.
