Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 147,236 tonnes of liquid import cargo including 123,755 tonnes of import 23,481 tonnes of export cargo and 1,649 loaded and empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Wednesday. The total import cargo of 123,755 tonnes comprised of 43,755 tonnes of dry cargo including 13,767 tonnes of containerised cargo; 29,988 tonnes of bulk cargo; 4,817 tonnes of DAP; 20,200 tonnes of coal; 3,339 tonnes of canola and 80,000 tonnes of oil and/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 23,481 tonnes of dry cargo including 9,888 tonnes of containerised cargo; 13,593 tonnes of bulk cargo and 12,341 tonnes of cement. Four ships namely APL Brisbane, Olympic Carrier, Ardent and Gen Tradition sailed out to sea during the reported period. Seven vessels viz Sima Sahba, MT Johar, Quetta, Ocean Success, Lucky Arrow, Hanjin Duesseldorf and Bunga Raya Sebelas are currently at the berths.
One ship namely Sima Sahba expected to sail on Wednesday, while seven vessels viz Bunga Raya Sebelas, Al-Soor-II, Lucky Arrow, Hanjin Duesseldorf, You Mei, MT Johar and Quetta are expected to sail on Thursday. Seven vessels viz Stena Calass, MT Swat, Hyundai Baron, Wan Hai-501, Cap Gabriel, Providence and Queen Arrow-II due to arrive on Wednesday, while two ships namely Zhongji No 1 and MT Islamabad are due to arrive on Thursday.

Container ship namely Mutanabbi sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, while another container ship namely Nedlloyed Honshu is expected to sail on the same day afternoon. Five vessels viz CV Nedlloyed Honshu, CV Mutanabbi, MV Carmen Silva, MV Zenobia and MV Leopard-B are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, rice and cement respectively during last 24 hours.
A total number of three ships namely CMA CGM Quartz, ACX Crystal and Iron Monger-5 carrying containers and crude oil respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. Four vessels viz CV CMA CGM Quartz, CV ACX Crystal, CV Katharinas and MT Al-Badiyah carrying containers and crude oil are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Wednesday.
Oil tanker namely MT BW Columbia carrying furnace oil due to arrive on Wednesday, while another container ship namely CV Al-Noof is due to arrive on Thursday. Two container vessels viz CV Maersk Novazzano and CV MSC Sarawak are due to arrive on Friday.
