British Foreign Minister David Miliband on Sunday felicitated Sindh Governor, Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan on completion of his seven years in the office of the Governor of Sindh province. The British Foreign Minister accompanying other British envoys called on Sindh Governor at Governor House here, a statement said.
Appreciating the efforts of Sindh Governor in the process of reconciliation, he said Dr Ebad was a fire fighter. Investment, education, health, culture and other matters of significant importance were also discussed.
The British Foreign Minister said that they were focusing on all these sectors and co-operation in the same would be further extended. He said that the British delegations were paying consecutive visits to Pakistan to enhance economic co-operation and for promotion of investment.
David Miliband said a strategy was being devised to expedite the process of investment with the co-ordination of the government and local investors.
The British Foreign Minister expressed grief over the recent tragedy in Karachi.
Speaking on the occasion, Governor Sindh said that the good governance and peace were essential elements for development and stability in any country.
He said all political parties and countrymen were united for stability and maintenance of peace in the country.
He said that the British nationals consider Pakistan as their second home. The development of the metropolis, reflects the development of the entire country and attempt are made to create unrest in the city in order to destabilise the country, he added.
