US MIDDAY: sugar and coffee soar, cocoa down

Summaries of the ICE Futures US cocoa, coffee and sugar markets early on Tuesday. March arabica coffee contract rose 0.60 cent to $1.4430 per lb at 11:16 am EST (1616 GMT). Session range from $1.4305 to $1.4485. Arabica coffee rose in the face of a weak commodity complex on tight supply concerns, said brokers.
March raw sugar contract soared 0.94 cent or 3.5 percent to 27.69 cents per lb at 11:17 am. Trading range from 26.87 to 27.98 cents. Sugar surged on all-around buying as bullish fundamentals reignited rally in sweetener, said traders. Benchmark March cocoa contract inched down $6 to $3,337 per tonne at 11:18 am. Tight trading range from $3,315 to $3,352.
