Fatehpur police arrested on Wednesday one of two accused who had killed their grand-mother, an uncle, and six aunts only for grabbing their five acres of land. All the victims were buried on their land instead of graveyard in the supervision of Punjab Minister Malik Ahmed Ali Aulakh, DPO Layyah Chaudhry Muhammad Saleem.
Eight members of a family, including seven women Shah Ali, Zakiran Bibi, Azeema, Tasleema, Zarina, Yasmeen, Samina and Mumtazan were killed over alleged 5-acre agriculture land dispute at Chak 75-TDA ( Fatehpur) in Layyah District on Tuesday. According to police, two brothers Farooq and Shah Rasool allegedly killed their uncle, grand mother and six aunts with hatchets and "Kassi" when they were watering a field.
Eyewitnesses said that six sisters laid down their lives to save their brother Shah Ali. As a result, eight people died on the spot. The deceased were identified as Shah Muhammad, Zakran Bibi, Mumtaz Bibi, Tasleema Bibi, Zarina, Kaleema, Samina and Yasmin. Police reached the scene, but the accused had already fled. Police have started investigation. DPO Layyah said," This case would be tried in anti-terrorism court.
