As many as 12,30,015 children under the age of 5 years will be administered anti-polio vaccination during the next polio eradication campaign from January 18 to 20. Total 2724 teams have been constituted by the local health department to give polio drops to the children. This was stated in a meeting of District Polio Eradication Committee held at DCO office.
Briefing the meeting, DHO, Dr Imran said that various teams of health department would go from door to door to administer polio drops to children during this campaign. He said that City District Faisalabad had been divided into different zones to make this campaign effective.
Moreover, he said that 2202 mobile teams, 369 static and 153 transit teams will perform this duty during polio eradication campaign. EDO, Health, Dr Siddique, informed the meeting that a social mobilisation campaign regarding SNID is being launched in the district and special seminars and dramas would be arranged with the co-operation of Unicef. Representative of WHO, Dr Debora, also spoke on the occasion and expressed satisfaction over the performance of local administration and health department in polio eradication campaign. EDO Literacy Asif Tarar, Secretary DRTA Mohsin Rashid, SP Admn. Robin Yamin and other concerned officer attended the meeting.
