US MIDDAY: copper steadies

US copper futures steadied early on Wednesday, as bargain-hunting enabled prices to recover from earlier lows, but brokers expected more rangebound business amid ongoing concerns about monetary tightening in China. Benchmark copper for March delivery rose 0.25 cent to $3.3520 per lb by 10:30 am EST (1530 GMT) on the New York Mercantile Exchange's COMEX division.
Range from $3.33150 to $3.3875 COMEX estimated futures volume at 14,091 lots by 10 am.
