Punjab Transport, Excise and Taxation and Education Minister Mujtaba Shuja-Ur-Rehman has said that Punjab Chief Minister Speech, Essay Writing and Sports Competitions have resulted in promotion of curricular and co-curricular activities in the educational institutions.
The radius of these competitions would be further extended in next year and contests of Qirat, Naat Khuwani and Punjabi debates would also be included in these events, he added. He expressed these views while addressing Provincial Monitoring Committee of Chief Minister Punjab Speech, Essay Writing and Sports Programme here on Tuesday, disclosed an official.
The meeting was attended by Punjab Information Secretary Shoaib Bin Aziz, Punjab Higher Education Secretary Ahad Khan Cheema, renowned poet Amjad Islam Amjad, provincial Focal Person, DPI (SE), Mian Abdul Haq, Additional Secretary Higher Education Ghulam Abbas Sargana and Chairman Chief Minister Taskforce on Elementary Education also attended the meeting.
"Sports competitions would provide us both national and international players of different games," he added. The meeting was told that fewer complaints have been received about speech competition as compared to previous year. The meeting reviewed the arrangements of provincial prize distribution ceremony of Punjab Chief Minister Speech, Essay Writing and Sports Competitions and decided that the date of the function would be fixed after approval of the chief minister.
