Lahore Corps dispatches Rs three million relief goods for IDPs

To support the displaced persons of South Waziristan in this hour of their need, Lahore Corps has contributed relief goods worth more than Rs 3 million. The third consignment, comprising 5 trucks left Lahore for D I Khan here on Thursday.
The consignment contains packets of food items and winter clothing for 1000 families. Under the directives of Commander Lahore Corps, Lieutenant General Ijaz Ahmed Bakhshi, the package has been prepared keeping in view the daily needs of a family for one month. It includes edibles like rice, flour, pulses, sugar, other articles of daily use and winter clothing, tents etc. Lahore Corps has so far dispatched relief goods worth Rs 21 million in total for the displaced persons of South Waziristan only. It is pertinent to mention here that a considerable contribution has also been made by a number of philanthropists and welfare organisations in Lahore Corps Relief Fund for the help of dislocated persons from Waziristan.
