23 Jan, 2010

The fourth day at the Young Leaders' and Entrepreneurs' Summit (YLES) 2010 saw the competition grow intense as delegates tried to impress the judges with their entrepreneurial prowess in the Business Case Study competition and Leaders' Quiz.
The Business Case Study competition gives students a rare insight into the corporate world by putting them into the shoes of an actual entrepreneur. The competition tests the students' ability of business decision making, as students are required to guide an organisation to success.
The Leaders' Quiz tested the delegates, knowledge of leading businesses and entrepreneurs from Pakistan and across the world. This year the Leaders' Quiz emphasised heavily on businesses that employed the concept of Sustainopreneurship - the summit theme.
Chief Executive Officer AKD securities Fareed Alam, Atif Bashir: Head of Punjab region at Bull's eye 360 Brand activation agency, Humais Iqbal: Project co-ordinator Intel and Komal Ikram: co founder of I managers (marketing and advertising agency) performed their duties as judges on the occasion. To emphasise the importance of advertising in boosting a firm's sales, every year, an ad making competition titled "Play-It" is held at the summit.
The preliminary round was held on Thursday with delegates, showcasing innovative television ads, competed to prove their marketing mettle. At the end of a busy day the delegates were cordially invited to a formal dinner. A strictly black tie affair, the formal dinner provided the delegates with a glimpse of the characteristic glitz and glamour of an entrepreneur's life.
