ANP workers, including Bakht Ali Khan, Lal Zamin Khan, Jamal Shah, and Nobat Khan of Kheshki on Saturday resigned from their political party and announced joining Pakistan People's Party along with their scores of colleagues and families. The announcement was made during a public gathering held at Kheshki Payan district Nowshera with NWFP Minister for Excise and Taxation Liaqat Shabab in the chair.
Besides a large number of party workers and local people, senior vice president of PPP district Nowshera chapter Ghulam Hazrat was also present on this occasion. Addressing the gathering, Liaqat said that PPP Nowshera has become single largest party in the district due to its welfare-oriented approach towards masses and would sweep next general and local bodies elections.
He added that a large number of political workers of other parties were joining the party because of people-friendly policies of the PPP-led government. The minister said that development projects worth of Rs 40 million had been launched in the constituency which on completion would bring positive changes in the sectors of education, health, irrigation, agriculture, water supply, gas and electricity.
Bakht Ali along with his supporters announced joining PPP after reposing confidence in the dynamic leaderships of President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani and Liaqat Shabab. He said that he would serve the cause of the party in its true sense and would not hesitate from rendering every sacrifice in hours of trial.
