20 water supply schemes of DG Khan in final stages

Twenty schemes, costing Rs 50 million, for supplying drinking water were in the final stages of completion. Officials said on Saturday that water supply schemes were being executed by TMA in some Katchi Abadis of DG Khan and two more schemes worth Rs 16.5 million were under execution in Katchi Abadis of Taunsa Sharif.
In another meeting, DCO Iftikhar Ali Sahu has ordered officials to ensure completion of water supply schemes within the stipulated period without compromising quality of work and material. It may be noted that a sum of Rs 224.3 million was being spent on 92 schemes under execution by different departments under district development programme.
Official said 34 road schemes were under execution at a cost of Rs 112.1 million, while a sum of Rs 61.1 million was being spent to complete 13 education sector reforms schemes while another 11 special education schemes would cost Rs 177 million. Officials said that Rs three million Jamia Masjid scheme of Fort Munro, the only accessible hill station by road in south Punjab, was also nearing completion.
