The Passport Circle of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Saturday busted a gang of human traffickers after arresting three human smugglers in Rawalpindi and recovered passports, computerised National Identity Cards (CNICs) and other documents. According to FIA sources, the Passport Circle received information that three human smugglers are moving towards Islamabad from Peshawar.
The FIA team stopped a vehicle at Faizabad and arrested three human smugglers from the vehicle. The detained human traffickers were identified as Irfanullah, Qari Zahir and Syed Ilyas Shah all belonging to NWFP. They said during the search, the FIA officials recovered 10 passports, 10 CNICs and various other documents.
Officials said the documents recovered from the human traffickers are ample proof of their involvement in human smuggling. "We had received the information that some human smugglers are moving from Peshawar along with passports to attain visas from Islamabad," sources said. They have been taken into custody and are being questioned to get information about their other accomplices, sources added.
