Wattoo, PSMA's chief: contempt of court notices withdrawn

A division bench of Lahore High Court (LHC) has withdrawn contempt of court notices issued to Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs Manzoor Ahmad Wattoo, Chairman Pakistan Sugar Mills Association (PSMA), Sikandar Khan and its Punjab Chapter Chairman Javed Kiyani for making derogatory remarks against the court after it had fixed sugar price at Rs 40 per kg.
On Tuesday, Chief Justice Khawaja Muhammad Sharif announcing verdict in connection with the petition said that Manzoor Wattoo was not found guilty of contempt of court and discharged proceedings against him. While the contempt notices against PSMA's representatives were withdrawn on the basis of their unconditional apology.
