Director General Health Punjab Dr Muhammad Aslam Chaudhary has directed Executive District Officers (Health) to monitor the working of DHQ hospitals, THQ Hospital and Rural Health Centres and take immediate steps for the provision of missing facilities for ensuring modern healthcare to the people of far-flung areas. He was presiding over the monthly review meeting of EDOs Health here on Tuesday, disclosed an official.
Provincial Coordinations of various ongoing health programmes were also present on the occasion. The meeting reviewed available medical facilities in district and tehsil hospitals and rural health centres and instructions were issued for provision of various missing facilities in different hospitals and health centres.
It also discussed matters regarding ongoing Hepatitis Control Programme, HIV AIDS, TB Dots Programme, MNCH, Mother and Child Health Programme, Lady Health Workers Programme, EPI besides treatment and rehabilitation of drug addicts. The DG Health directed that public awareness campaign against various diseases as well as health education programme for checking hepatitis and AIDS should be run in a co-ordinated manner and NGOs working in health sector should also be taken on board.
