Punjab focuses on social sector development: Khosa

Senior Advisor to Chief Minister, Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa has said that the Punjab government is taking measures for the development in education, health and agriculture sectors besides improving the law and order situation. He was talking to the participants of 11th National Security Workshop at National Defence University here on Wednesday.
He said that Rs 175 billion had been allocated for the development projects and priority was being given to less developed and a backward area specially districts of Southern Punjab. Danish Schools were being established in order to provide quality education to the students. Education, textbooks, uniform and boarding facilities would be made available to the students free of cost in Danish Schools.
He said that computer labs were also being setup in 4286 government schools of the province so that all students could get IT education. On the instruction of Punjab Chief Minister, special Endowment Fund has been established for the deserving intelligent students.
Air-conditioners had been installed in all the general wards of the government hospitals besides providing standby generators. He further stated besides free of cost medicines, state-of-the-art treatment facilities were being provided to the patients in emergency and out door ward.
