Kundi hails Islamabad traffic police performance

Faisal Karim Kundi, Deputy Speaker, National Assembly has said Islamabad played a great role in brining down the incidents of terrorism and its traffic police has brought complete discipline in traffic of the capital.
"We have to take care of the requirements of our forces and cooperate with them in maintaining law and order and traffic flow", Kundi said while addressing the gathering at a musical competition organised by Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) on occasion of its 4th anniversary at National Library Auditorium on Thursday.
Chief Commissioner, ICT, Islamabad Shahid Mehmood, Inspector General ICTP Islamabad Kaleem Imam, Former IGP Iftikhar Rasheed, DIG Security Rao Sardar Ali, SSP Islamabad Tahir Alam, SSP HQ Muhammad Zuabair Hashmi, AIG Operations Helena Iqbal Saeed, SSP Traffic Dr Moeen Masood and members of ITP Liaison Committee, students of ICG F-6/2, Special children of Al-Makhtoom, Al-Farabi and other schools participated in the function. The children sang national songs and got admiration from the audience.
Kundi appreciated the role of forces in the present scenario when terrorism had plagued entire world saying that the effective security planning of the Police had helped to avert many terrorist attacks. He said that the ITP deserved appreciation for maintaining law and order situation and better traffic system in the capital. The ITP is getting more popularity than Motorway police, he added.
Deputy Speaker National Assembly said that Police and other forces enthusiastically fought against terrorism and succeeded to provide safety to the public. He said that Islamabad Traffic Police set an example of corruption free institution, provided systematic traffic system and implemented equal application of law.
He said that he would endorse every step for providing more resources to Islamabad Police and would also play his part to help this organisation. On this occasion, Chief Commissioner Islamabad Shahid Mehmood and IGP Iftikhar Rasheed (Retd) said that ITP was a role model for other government organisation. An international transport system would be introduced in the capital very soon, he added.
Inspector General of Police Islamabad Syed Kaleem Imam said that he felt proud to be the head of Islamabad Police as his team was not only sincere, hardworking but had capability to deal with the incidents of terrorism. He divulged that the ITP not only maintained the traffic system in the capital but also provided the best services to the road users and citizens. He hoped that in future its performance would be enhanced.
Dr Moeen Masood SSP Traffic Islamabad said that his predecessors Dr Sultan Azam Temuri and Muhammad Zubair Hashmi did lot of work in strengthening the ITP and made it able to provide better facilities to the road users through traffic education and enforcement but still there was dire need of resources for office building and other equipment. He assured that the ITP would continue its struggle to uphold its vision and mission to provide better traffic system to the citizens in the capital.
