The Lahore High Court (LHC) here on Thursday issued notices to superintendent camp jail and provincial election commission in a petition of Ijaz Momim Jee presently jailed in a fraud case. Petitioner through his counsel said that he wanted to contest election in NA-123 Lahore but the jail authorities were not allowing him to appear before returning officer concern for filing nomination.
Counsel said to contest election was the constitutional right of every citizen which could not be withdrawn. He prayed to the court to direct jail authorities and election commission to allow him to file nomination papers.
