Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Saturday said there was no confrontation among the institutions and judges would be appointed with consensus. Talking to media after a surprise visit to an educational institution of the Capital, Gilani said he was enjoying cordial relations with judiciary. He said his government has high regard for judiciary and would implement its decisions.
The Prime Minister said whoever he says something there is logic behind it and he never changed his stance after making a statement. The Prime Minister also recounted sacrifices of both the judiciary and the politicians for strengthening the institutions. He said the government would complete its five-year term and would never do anything against the stability of institutions.
Gilani also appreciated the role of the opposition saying that it was to guide the government for the betterment of the people. Earlier, the Prime Minister attended a lecture with the students and advised them to concentrate on their studies. He said the government would make every effort for the betterment of the education system in the country.
He said most of the students wanted to become teachers and doctors and did not wish to become anchorpersons, judges and even politicians. Gilani said the teachers' training was critical to improving the quality of teaching. He said a policy was under consideration for providing free primary education and mentioned that the task force on education with UK would be very helpful for teachers training.
About the Asian Development Bank (ADB) report on rental power projects and power tariff, he said the matter was placed before the Cabinet, unlike past. Gilani said on the demand of media and the opposition, the government got conducted the evaluation audit of the RPPs by the ADB. He said the third party evaluation got delayed the RPPs for over three months and requested that media should not interpret its own finding of the report. Rather they should seek clarification of their queries from the Finance and the Water and Power Ministers before making their own interpretation.
